"on the trackk"

Quote of the day:

Will- "If I ever buy a mini van I am counting on you to drive up beside me and shoot me in the FACE."

“Thank you Jesus tap dancing Christ.”

The guys accomplished a lot today, i think they might have recorded two whole songs but i'm not sure. They were doing a lot though and it sounded good.

after a hard days work...

Hahahaha okay and then they decided to make a giant pillow blob out of mattresses and pillows so they could jump from upstairs onto the blob....

NEWSSS!
I couldn't hear Will talking too well but either Cartel is covering the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls or just Will is co-covering the song Iris with another band.

picturess

Here's the pictures I promised you guys from Memorial Day! I only put up a few so if you want to see more of them you can look on my buzznet for those pictures and also pictures from various other Cartel concerts.

The Bubble!

The MTV people that were interviewing me and a few people.

Kevin took these from inside the bubble hah.

It says "What songs do you want to hear, we were thinking about playing say anything else, honestly, and a new one". They actually ended up playing Burn This City, a new one and i don't know the other one because i had to leave early.

sorry guys

I'm still in school so I won't be able to post as much during the week. Well today Nic and Jeff were sick, Jeff had uvulitis or something like that and I think Nic just had a hangover haha. Today the singer Juliet came to the bubble to record a song with Will. I only got to hear the last minute of it, but I thought it sounded cool. After they recorded everyone was all gathered around the computer watching various youtube videos. I heard Will recording vocals for another soung later in the day that sounded amazing. I don't want to say it was like Q&A but it was like them in that it's different from what Chroma was like.

hahaha oh yeah Kevin and Joseph were doing a crossword puzzle and Kevin was like the capitol of Montana..... do you know that one? And I saw that Jeff was online so I imed him the answer and he said it and was like "like three people just imed me telling me the capital of montana" hah it was funny.

golf and dance parties

will and kevin opened to doors and set up a golf tee. so will apparantly hit something out of the bubble but i really don't know what hah.

and nic fell asleep

then they started dancing in front of the webcams and consecutively each webcam went black.

haha

They're playing poker. Well most of them, Nic is in an interview right now. But THERES NO SOUND so I can't hear any of it.

Memorial Day!!!

I was lucky enough to spend Memorial Day in NYC with CARTELLL! Ohhhyeahhhh. It was so fun, I got there really early and none of the guys were awake yet. There was only about 6 other people there and someone from MTV asked if she could interview us. We basically just said our name, where we're from, and that we love Cartel. And then she told us all to yell, "WE WANT CARTEL TO WAKE UP!" So maybe that will be on the video since they filmed them sleeping.

I made the guys guitar and music shaped cookies, brownies, and tostitos with salsa haha. And then I gave Joseph his birthday card that I made a week or two ago and I heard him talking when they were eating he was like "that was cool that that girl remembered my birthday" haha so that was neat.

There was so many people there, it was crazy. The guys didn't record at all though so I'm assuming that they finished the first song for the deadline tomorrow. Haha some people had dry erase boards and were communicating with Kevin through those, he seems to be the one who enjoys talking to the fans the most. They played a couple songs at around 5 but I could only stay for Burn This City.

I took a bunch of pictures that I will load tomorrow but right now i have some homework I need to finish.

nerf it upp

I'm really mad that I didn't get to see too much of what was going on today. But my friend and her family came up from north carolina and we had a lot of people here so it was fun, we danced in the rain hah.

If you're planning on visiting the bubble be sure to bring NERF GUNS. The guys had a lot of fun with them today and I'm sure they'd appreiciate things along those lines.

That's pretty much all I got to see today. I know, very VERY productive day. There was a lot of fans that stopped by and the guys really appreciate everyone who comes out so if you live near New York say hi!

the party's startinggg

Everyone's here and the first contestant just sang Honestly, hah it was pretty entertaining. If you don't know they're having a kareoke contest and the winner gets to hang out with Cartel!! I definatly wish I was there so I could do that, I would win... hah RIGHT.

First singer and Cartel clapping for them hah.

Here's Cartel playing one of their new songs from inside the bubble.

Playing Matter Of Time. The crowd is amazingg they're all singing along and everything.

Wow

hah apparantly it's extremely hot in there so i'm going to bring them one of those water squirter/fans. jeff "the air conditioning flew out of my pant leg" hah i have no idea why he said that but I thought it was funny.

there are soooo many people outside, it's crazy! they keep asking the guys to sign stuff and everything and they need to record now. hah even i'm getting a little annoyed myself with that, i dont know if the guys are but i would be if i had to work and there was almost 100 people outside that wanted to talk to me. hahah some girl was just like "why can't they just sign all this stuff and then record..." cause maybe theres a hundred of you standing outside.

its thunderingg

well, it's thundering here. hah i love thunder. ANYWAY

today is the one of the event days so there's a lot of people coming to talk to them. here's a picture of kevin talking to some fans.

and the guys signing something for a fan

Now Kevin's recording, it sounds really good. I love listening in on this and how they change different components of the drum section during the recording process. The simplest beat can add so much more to a song.

And their manager Chris Black stopped by. Him, Will, and Nic chillin out in the kitchen.

dayyy 2

So today Tony Asher stopped by the bubble to talk to Cartel about their new album, which is exciting for Will since he is a HUGEE Beach Boys fan. I caught them talking about the lyrics for one of the songs. I wasn't able to get much out of it though because I started watching probably half way in their conversation. I think they were talking about how the lyrics are philosophicall or something? I don't know but it was a fun conversation to listen to.

They played a demo for the first song off the record too. It sounded awesome although the sound quality of the webcams isn't too great and makes the instruments sound out of tune hah.

yeahyeah

Well i couldn't watch too much going on in the bubble because i had some friends over but i did get to catch a little bit of Kevin's recording session. It was really good, there was a lot of new things he was doing and I really liked how it sounded. Haha i really want to keep watching it but my friends are like FREAK! Stop watching that! Oh well their loss. Ok well I gotta go!! Can't wait for Monday!

they're in the bubblee

Last night was amazing, I just wish I could have been there. When they were showing shots from some of their recent concerts they showed one clip from the concert on Will's birthday and he was holding the shirt I threw him!! Haha I think I might have seen myself in the crowd too so that was cool. Haha I thought that was just a little bit awkward though when they went inside because they just like walked in and it's like ok cool we're in here now but everyone is still looking at us.

Anyway, well today I have a half day at school so I'm going to go home and like watch the webcams all day haha. Except I have friends coming over and only one of them loves Cartel as much as I do so me and her will be watching the webcams like OMG! And the other two will be like guys can we PLEASE do something??

Ahh gtg announcements are onnn

9 HOURS AND 4 MINUTES!

I went home sick today from school, allergies are killer. That sounds like a lame reason to go home sick but I had a migrane, I couldn't breath through my nose, and my throat hurts. So I came home and slept for a couple hours. It was nice =] hah.

And nowwwwww I can't control my excitement!!! ALMOST 8 MORE HOURSSS! Whoooo I just bought some Dr. Pepper from the store so I'm all set!

So last night I entered to be an official BIB Team Blogger. I hope I get chosen because Cartel is honestly my favorite band and I want to be as much a part of this whole experience as possible. And getting 20 access codes? I would be watching the webcams all day long. Hah i can picture the next 20 days... "Hey Rebecca wanna go out to dinner tonight?" "SHH NO! I'm watching Band In A Bubble!" Even if I'm not chosen I think I'll keep this blog so I can write down my thoughts for my own pleasure. That way I'll have even more ways to remember this whole thing.

I wish I was there for opening night! The anticipation is killing meeeeee.

Band In A Bubble Premiere's Tomorrow!

I am so proud of these guys!!!

Starting tomorrow, Cartel will be locked in a giant bubble on Pier 54 on the Hudson River in New York City. They'll be recording their new album (!!!) while being broadcast online and on live television. Go to Drpepperbubble.com for more information, it's a pretty awesome site check out the message boards hah.

I'm probably just going to make myself angry by bringing this up but there has been quite a lot of controversy on this whole project. There are so many sites full of people just bashing Cartel left and right for this "marketing ploy". One website... just pissed me off SO much. A guy had been going on and on about Cartel and Band In A Bubble and Will had read it and sent the guy a letter explaining the whole situation. The guy had the nerve to take Will's letter and post it in his blog for everyone to read. That made me so mad and then after that, someone had found it and posted it on another website and people just kept bashing it. I can garantee that a good percentage of the people who were talking don't know one thing about Cartel. Just because they are taking a risk and putting themselves out into the world for everyone to hear doesn't make them desperate, as someone said. They are simply doing something creative to get their music out there and to hopefully gain more fans.

I will be behind this band 100% in whatever they do, because I know what they are capable of accomplishing. They are great guys that have worked hard through the past years and deserve this. I'm very interested to see what goes on inside the bubble. I think it'll be really cool to witness the whole recording process with them and to see all the different aspects of recording an album.

I'll be there May 28th for the Memorial Day Barbacue and June 12th when they burst out. Definatly SUPER excited for those two days. Ahhhh even more for tomorrow! I'm taping all four episodes on DVD's haha. Alright well it's late, I have a project to finish, and I'm really tired so I'm gonna go, night.
