Cartel EP on iTunes

Since the date was pushed all the way back to August 21st, the guys decided to put out a 3 song EP on the original release date. The songs are Lose It, No Subject (Come With Me), and The Fortune. I'm pretty sure The Fortune was the song when they recorded us clapping at the bubble hah.

Also, Cartel is playing a MYSPACE SECRET SHOW! with The Rocket Summer tonight at The Drunken Unicorn in Atlanta, GE. The show is FREE, all ages, and starts at 7 so get there early before it fills up!

New Video Calls For New Looks

Cartel spent yesterday in LA making the video for their first single "Lose It" off the new record. You can look through all of the pictures on their buzznet.

AND Joseph Pepper followed through with what he said and shaved his beard into a mustache. It does look very different but it isn't unbearable, just as long as he grows it back. On the other hand Will is now sporting a nice goatee...





Although I cannot wait for Cartel's new album there are several other albums coming out this month. TOMORROW The Rocket Summer's new album "Do You Feel" will be in stores but it's not too late to pre-order it now!

Hey Everyone!

Band In A Bubble has been over for a couple weeks now and I still find myself checking the website, watching videos, looking at pictures, and still writing on the message boards. But alas, it's over and us Cartel fans must look towards what is in the future, THE NEW ALBUM! I'm just counting down the days...

I've decided to try and continue this blog as my official Cartel fan blog. I doubt I'll remember to update this as frequently as I would like to but I'll try and write about all of Cartel's updates, shows I go to, and things of that nature.

Since Cartel has been out of the Bubble they have changed the date of the album release from July 24th to August 21st. I do not know why but I'm just guessing they had trouble with production of the cd's because a month is a pretty fast turn around. Besides that, the band has also announced their next headlining tour with Nightmare Of You (great band, if you haven't heard of them you should definatly check them out) and Weatherbox. It's almost time for Cartel the break out of their bubble that they've been stuck in for the past 20 days and I think they're starting to get a little nervous. To get pumped up they started running around in circles hah.

I'm starting to get somewhat emotional haha. I've already said this a billion times but this has honestly been an awesome experience for me. I feel like I've really gotten to know all of the guys individually and I feel like I've been part of their experience and It's going to be hard to just all of a sudden let go.


Discussing the weather patterns hah

Well, this is it.

Today is officially Cartel's last day in the bubble. Tonight at 8pm they will burst out of the bubble and perform a live concert which will be broadcast as the final episode of Band In A Bubble so tune into MTV and watch! This is making me sad, I've felt like such a part of this process for the past 20 days. Tomorrow I'm going to be like where's my boys?? Hah I'll miss stalking them but I've loved being able to watch them record this album, as I said before it's been real hah.

CARTEL'S LAST NIGHT!!!

Tonight is Cartel's last night in the bubble! I can tell they're all excited about the big day tomorrow, they probably would love to just bust out right now. I can barely see anyone because they're setting up the lights for tomorrows show, which looks spectacular by the way.

Joseph- "It's like the last day of school, you want to leave early but you have to stay."

The boys are currently walking around singing "Umbrella" by Rihanna haha.
I guess I can play where's Cartel right now......

I spy Joseph? Soundcheck at 9:50... that's cool? Him and Jeff are playing the "I name a song, you play it" game.... "SILVERCHAIR! SABBATH! WEEZER! ZEPPELIN! JOSEPH, LED ZEPPELIN! JOSEPH, BEETLES! JOSEPH, LED ZEPPELIN! JOSEPH, NOVEMBER RAIN! RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE! GREEN DAY! SMASH MOUTH!!" ok i'll stop now they might do this for awhile... haha. it's very amusing.



Well after playing that game for about 20 minutes, they started to practice for tomorrow night! They just played Lose It, and I already know almost all of the lyrics to that song haha.

Goodnight boys- it's been real. I'm going to miss stalking you for the past 20 days of my life. It really has been a great experience being able to see how a record is made. I feel like I'm more connected to you guys and that I've really gotten to know you even though you don't know me haha. Victory!

The webcams are working again, well all but 4 are working. Someone stopped by this morning to interview Cartel. I couldn't hear it too well but i got out a couple things here and there.

Will- "We haven't felt any pressure on this album, it's just been sort of just come naturally." "We're almost redefining ourselves you could say, I mean we're still the same Cartel but the album is definatly different from Chroma."

Joseph- "If we were under pressure I think the new album would've sounded like Chroma."

One of the questions was what are they doing for the third album. They said they were just going to go back to the home studio and record there, Jeff had another idea "ON THE MOON!"

Jeff- "I love it when people are good at their job, I hate stupid people..... JOSEPH."

And then they just sat around for awhile and read, Kevin attempted to play the guitar.


Then they found their Monopoly.


Quick lunch break.


Back to the game.



Then someone came to interview them... it was interesting hah. When the person left one of the guys just goes "god damn." And back tooooo MONOPOLY!

Technical Difficulties

Sorry guys but the webcams haven't been working at all for the past day and a half for me, i've tried getting on about every hour and they're not even loading its just all black. It's pretty annoying because this is basically all I do and now I have nothing to do. All I know is that they have officially finished the record and are now celebrating for the last two days so hopefully they won't get too bored in there.

Peter Malkinnnn

Hah i love the way they say his name every single time he walks in.

They're talking about the album. Jeff says that it gives off an early 90's vibe haha. Peter said Wasted was his favorite. That's about all I could understand the sound keeps going in and out.

Now they're listening to a song in the producer room that I actually haven't heard yet and it sounds so good. Peter loves it too which is great.



HAHA. This is adorable they all love dogs. Jeff was like "LOOK AT THAT PUPPY I WANT IT IN HERE! Come onn get that puppy in here pleaseee!" and they're all like "It's so cuteee! I want it in heree" hahha Joseph "It's so stoked on being alive." hah I love these boys. Finally the dog came in and they were all happy.

A Bit Confused

Last night all the guys were saying "Yeahhhh it's the last night!" and talking about packing their stuff and everything, which confused me because they still have about 4 days left in the bubble. So maybe they finished to album early and get to leave? Or not I really have no idea, or maybe it's the last night with the camera men around haha i really don't know it was confusing.

I always seem to catch Joseph doing something. I heard part of his interview this morning and then the sound went out and hasn't been on since

The interviewer asked him if he had recorded anything yesturday and he said he had been putting off recording his solo for one song and that he was having trouble coming up with something. He usually just goes in and plays it on the spot but he said he had to actually sit down and write something this time because he had so much freedom in this song.




And I'm assuming he's recording it right now, but I don't know because the sound isn't working.



And then Nic went in to finish recording.



There's so many people out today and there's not even a special event going on, people are just there. Joseph was like "I looked earlier and there was only about 7 people and I look up now and there's like 60."

Now Will is recording some backup vocals.
